My Collaborative Work

This September I was introduced to a fantastic tool that has provided me with a much easier and more convenient way to collaborate with fellow teacher candidates on the multitude of group work assignments we have had this year ... this tool is Google Docs.  I cannot believe that I went my entire undergraduate career without using this tool, it would have made so many projects a lot easier to accomplish, especially with conflicting schedules of group members.

Throughout the past two months, I have used Google Docs in multiple classes to collaborate with group members and my cohort members to complete research, lesson plans and study guides.  It amazes me how collaborative a group can be by simply uploading documents and being able to have the ability to edit and work on them together; everything seems to get accomplished much faster and each member can access the document when they have time, so there are no conflicts in schedules.  This is very useful to me since I travel home to London every weekend and I am not available to meet on weekends; by using Google Docs I can still work with my group even if it is at a distance.  I found this especially useful when working on an Classroom Dynamics poster presentation because we were able to add our research to the document and then collaboratively determine the vital points to present on our poster.  Check out our collaborative Google Doc on Substance and Alcohol Abuse.
